From teaching himself the art of photography, Marcus’ fine art nudes have been acquired by the Singapore Art Museum, the Kinsey Institute in Indiana and the Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay & Lesbian Art in NYC, and other valuable private collections around the world.
His work has been exhibitited in Singapore, New Zealand, Sydney, Melbourne and New York City and has been published in international books and magazines like the Bruno Gmunder anthology books, BLUE and Mate, just to name a few.
Marcus has published Liberate, his first book of sensuous male photographs. It is a collection of Marcus’ best works from the last decade of his photography.
The naked body conveys truth. Marcus Mok gives that truth artistic and sensual twists. Marcus’ nude photography is not about putting a face to a body. It is about the body at its most beautiful and crossing into the world of art.
Marcus endeavours to reveal the grace and beauty of the human form without resorting to saccharine images on the one hand, or overly explicit poses on the other. He has striven to show that beauty can be revealed – and even enhanced – using creative and subtle techniques of photography.
Whether in colour or black and white, with tattoos or just a leaf, the male and female nude is revealed in confidence and style. Each photograph with creative lighting and props unravels skin in ways you never imagined.
